Wilbur Kookmeyer has done a lot of questionable things in pursuit of surf greatness. This might be the most legally complicated.

After a series of incidents too embarrassing to detail here, Wilbur is now required by law to maintain a minimum distance of 300 yards from Kelly Slater at all times. Did that stop him from showing up to the contest? Absolutely not. Did he invest in quality optics? You bet he did.

Some call it a restraining order. Wilbur calls it a front-row seat.
